Since 2012, the United Nations has observed World Down Syndrome Day every 21 March to raise awareness and advocate for the rights of people with Down Syndrome. The date 3.21 symbolises the extra copy of chromosome 21 that most individuals with Down Syndrome have. This extra chromosome blesses our friends with Down syndrome with a genuine and sincere spirit, filling their lives with possibility and meaning.

321 Smile
People with Down syndrome often have a simple, open-hearted, and pure nature. Their smiles are infectious, spreading joy to everyone around them. Inspired by these lovely smiles, our president, Mrs. Victoria Tang-Owen, created the “321 Smile” logo as a memorable symbol to share their positive energy with the community.
Design concept
- A ribbon fashioned from mismatched socks conveys a friendly and gentle impression, symbolising our friends with Down Syndrome.
- Blue and yellow represent hope, happiness and our acceptance of and support for individuals with Down Syndrome. |

Hong Kong Social Enterprises Employee Recognition Scheme 2025
Our association is committed to workplace inclusion. We provide appropriate training to our trainees for open employment and show employers how employees with disabilities contribute to real value. This year, we are thrilled that Li Yuk Kwong and Chau Kin Wong from our Down’s Kwan Ngai Service Team received the Most Cooperative Spirit Award and the Outstanding Employee Award, respectively. Their achievements recognise their dedication and abilities, while encouraging more employers to open their doors to people with disabilities.
If you are interested in hiring employees with disabilities or providing an internship opportunity, please contact our Employment Services Centre at 2611 9747.

iRun - The Hong Kong Jockey Club Special Marathon 2026
40 runners with Down Syndrome, along with their running buddies, were sent to take part in TWGH's “iRun” — Hong Kong Jockey Club Special Marathon 2026. Many of our long-time pairs reunited on the course and completed the 3km inclusive run together, proving sport truly belongs to everyone.

Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026 - Marathon Charity Programme
For the first time, the association was a beneficiary organisation in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2026. Heartfelt thanks to the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates and all the charitable runners for helping us raise funds for our self-financed arts and sports programmes, giving people with Down Syndrome and other disabilities more chances to shine across more sports. On race day, our DS ambassadors introduced our services to runners and other organisations, and shared snowflake crisps handmade by our trainees.
We look forward to meeting everyone again at the Marathon next year!
